Šumoborci
"Šumoborci" is an educational tree-planting program through which everyone can plant a tree and contribute to the environment. The focuses on comprehensive education of children and young people through active learning and practical action.
The objectives of the "Šumoborci" program are:
- To educate children and young people in educational institutions across Croatia about the importance of forests, the effects of climate change, nature protection, and their own responsibility for the environment.
- To continuously organize reforestations campaigns, renew and increase the forest fund and raise awareness among citizens, primarily young people, about the effects of climate change on forests and the environment, as well as the importance of forests for people and the entire plant and animal world.
- To encourage children and young people to volunteer and care for the community and the environment. In addition to interactive educational workshops, program participants can also join organized reforestation campaigns to restore forest areas directly affected by climate change (storms, pest infestations, droughts, fires, floods, etc.).
