Program highlights
Unlike other reforestation programs, this program is implemented in Croatia, and besides reducing CO2 emissions and producing oxygen, it contributes to improving the quality of life in local communities. You can also personally participate in this program and visit the trees you helped plant.
First phase
CALCULATION OF CARBON FOOTPRINT
The carbon footprint calculation is conducted in cooperation with the project partner – The Energy Institute “Hrvoje Požar” and serves as the basis for initiating CO2 emissions compensation.
Second phase
PROCUREMENT OF AN EQUIVALENT NUMBER OF SEEDLINGS
The determination of the number of seedlings to be planted in order to compensate for CO2 emissions is done as follows:
- The amount of CO2 emissions produced by the company is converted into the number of seedlings to be planted in Croatian planting sites by the program organizer.
- The selection of seedling species, planting locations, and dates is done in collaboration with program partners- Croatian Forestry Institute and Hrvatske Šume d.o.o. (Croatian Forests).
- Based on the selected seedling species, planting locations, and the amount of CO2 emissions to be compensated, the total duration for successive planting of seedlings (from one to ten years) is determined.
Third phase
SEEDLING PLANTING AND MAINTENANCE
Planting is carried out in cooperation with the volunteers from the Scout Association of Croatia and Hrvatske Šume d.o.o. (Croatian Forests) as part of the educational program "Šumoborci". Representatives of the company can participate in planting actions as part of team building experiences or similar activities, in agreement with the Scout Association of Croatia.
